Sony Interactive Entertainment may be intending to release more PlayStation titles on the PC than previously thought. According to a recent file found by Steam users, Sony has created a new “PlayStation PC” label solely for its PC gaming division. The implication is that, given the success of games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone, Sony is becoming more aware of how valuable the PC platform can be. As a result, Sony is doubling down on its PlayStation port efforts.

According to paperwork filed by the California Secretary of State, Playstation PC LLC filed as a Domestic on Tuesday, April 13, 2024, and is about six months old.
In a February interview with GQ, PlayStation chief Jim Ryan explained why Sony was embracing the PC platform:
“I believe a few of things have changed.”
“We’re in early 2024, and our development studios and the games they create are in better condition than they’ve ever been.” Our studios developed some beautiful, outstanding titles, especially in the latter portion of the PS4 cycle.”
“There is a chance to promote those fantastic games to a broader audience while still acknowledging the complexities of game production economics. As the quality of the IP has grown, the expense of developing games has increased with each cycle.”
“Also, the simplicity with which we can make it accessible to non-console owners has improved.” As a result, it’s a really simple option for us to make.”
Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Santa Monica Studios’ God of War are the next PlayStation exclusives to come to PC. God of War will be launched on January 14, 2024, while the former will be released in the first half of 2024.
