AMD’s Radeon Software Adrenalin 21.10.1 driver was published today. The new driver adds compatibility for a number of upcoming titles, including Windows 11 (which is already available), Far Cry 6 is the sixth installment in the Far Cry series. (which will be released on October 7), and the open beta for Battlefield 2042. (early access begins tomorrow).
Far Cry 6 players may anticipate up to 13 percent better performance on a Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card with the new 21.10.1 driver compared to the previous version at the Medium setting in 1440p on a Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card, according to AMD. Using the new driver, gamers with a Radeon RX 6800 XT should notice an 11 percent boost in performance in 4K at the Ultra setting (DX12).

- On certain AMD Graphics devices, such as the Radeon RX 500 Series Graphics, driver timeouts may occur while playing a game and streaming a video at the same time.
- When two or more monitors are attached to a machine, certain users may see excessive idle memory clock speed numbers.
- On certain AMD Graphics devices, such as the Radeon RX 6700 XT, driver timeouts may occur when playing The Medium.
- Radeon Software may show erroneously greater than real GPU power consumption numbers when the GPU is fully loaded.
- When viewing greenery while playing Wreckfest or Arma 3, visual corruption may occur.
Issues that have been identified
- After a user stops a recording session and quits the program, Open Broadcaster Software may continue to operate in the background.
- When playing certain DirectX 11 games, such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, with several monitors connected in extended mode, AMD Radeon Software may crash or become unusable.
- When activated on certain games and system settings, Enhanced Sync may result in a blank screen. As an interim solution, any users who are having problems with Enhanced Sync should deactivate it.
- Extremely high and erroneous memory clock values may be reported by Radeon performance measurements and logging capabilities on occasion.
Known Issues with AMD Link for Windows
- When streaming HEVC over the Internet with certain setups, there may be intermittent grey frame corruption. Instead, utilize the AVC encoding option as a workaround.
